North Melbourne ruckman will miss four weeks due to a hot spot on his foot

Tristan Xerri, a ruckman for North Melbourne, will be out for four weeks due to a hot spot on his foot.
The injury is a setback for the talented 23-year-old, who has established himself as the Kangaroos’ No. 1 ruckman this season after a prospective move to St Kilda fell through due to a lack of agreement between the two clubs.
This season, Xerri has started every game, pushing All-Australian ruckman Todd Goldstein into a new role up forward, while ex-Richmond tall Callum Coleman-Jones has struggled to earn a game.
The injury, though, will allow Goldstein to reestablish himself as the club’s No. 1 ruckman, while the Kangaroos have said that they are eager to get Coleman-Jones into the senior team for Saturday night’s match against Carlton at Marvel Stadium.
Dan McPherson, the Kangaroos’ football manager, said the team was glad to have detected the problem early.
“It’s unfortunate timing for Tristan. He’s done a power of work to cement himself in the team,” McPherson said.
“The positive here is the foot issue has been detected early and there is no sign of a fracture.”
North Melbourne is under increasing pressure following a poor start to the season under second-year coach David Noble, with the team showing little signs of progress.
They struggled to overcome the COVID-depleted West Coast for their sole win in 2022, and they showed tenacity against Sydney, but their other games have been unimpressive. They’ve lost three of their five games by more than ten goals.
Xerri is the third No.1 ruckman to miss time after Brodie Grundy of Collingwood and Marc Pittonet of Carlton both sustained PCL injuries in centre bounce ruck competitions, putting them out for up to 12 weeks. Tim English of the Bulldogs is also out with a hamstring issue.
Laneways Filled With Coffee
Melbourne even has a coffee expo, and 2014 world barista champion Pete Licata (from the United States) has praised Melbourne’s coffee culture as “amazing.” You’ve arrived to the perfect location if you enjoy coffee.
You can get wonderful coffee just meandering around the city’s laneways, and there are even coffee-themed excursions available: check out Hidden Secret Tours or Melbourne Coffee Tours for more information.
According to Yelp, Patricia on Little Bourke Street serves the finest cup of coffee in Melbourne: it’s a small hole-in-the-wall with no seating and a wait to get in, but it’s certainly the best coffee you’ll ever taste! The personnel is also kind, and the establishment is well worth the buzz.
