Where to go skiing or snowboarding in Victoria?
Victoria’s snowfields offer a wide variety of slopes and jumps for all levels of skiers and snowboarders to practice their moves on. With everything from downhill runs to half-pipes and terrain parks to exploring the backcountry, the fun never ends.
The three major Alpine resorts of Falls Creek, Mountt Baw Baw, and Mt Buller have a combined total of 250 downhill runs served by 50 lifts, making them the largest in Australia. Additionally, there are ten different terrain parks in the area, each with its own set of rollers, berms, rails, and jumps.
Mount Hotham Alpine Resort and Falls Creek Alpine Resort are great places for novices to get their feet wet. The Ruined Castle Expert Park in Falls Creek and The Boardercross Course in Hotham, both of which are built to World Cup standards, cater to the more experienced rider. Freestyle boarders will enjoy the two terrain parks on Mount Baw Baw because they are less intimidating for practice.
At Falls Creek, Hotham, Mt Buller and Mt Baw Baw, beginner to advanced snowboarders can take lessons and skills programs. Equipment can be rented on the mountain as well.
